[@Kronshi] Okay, I know this is really nit-picky of me, but what sense would it make for Bloodstone, the commander of the Homeworld forces, to go and retrieve the scattered shards of a dead gem, when the experiment can be performed without taking the unnecessary risk. it just seems like an unneeded complication to the process. I din't really see any Military officer taking that level of risk for something as inconsequential as preference of methods.
