Emerald lay there, flat on his face at the top of the staircase, wondering what had happened. It might've been the shock of going from ecstatic to flying through the air at a speed that could be described as "way too fast" in about a tenth of a second. Speaking of which, his face hurt. A lot more than it should've. Physical pain was really only something he had experienced once before, when he got shot by a laser eye. He pushed himself off of his face after a few seconds of collecting himself, and saw Zircon's hand reaching out towards him. He grabbed onto it with one hand, reserving the other for covering the left side of his face, where he had landed. He pulled himself up and stumbled a bit before facing Zircon. "Th-thanks, Zircon. I guess I wasn't-" He fumbled around with the words for a second, still a bit dazed. "Wasn't looking where I was going." The scratches burned a little, possibly because the old floor wasn't the cleanest thing in the world. He stood up on his own after wobbling a bit and walked over to the wall, slumping against it and coughing a bit. The long day had taken it's toll, especially what with all the excitement. Emerald had a feeling that this had happened at a bad time.
