Easton eyed the dirty alleyways as they walked by. They weren't the prettiest spot when everything was still... Well, alive, but their look was now deteriorating everyday. The duo had to dodge trash, bodies of the Livlös, and a few of the living ones. East was careful to not waste ammo so he only took out the ones that go too close for comfort whilst Caius hit a home run on any of the others. They paused for a few moments to catch their breath. "A gun shot woke me up, I thought it was you." "You heard that, too? Thought I was hallucinating." Cai furrowed his brows. "D-Do you think anyone is alive out there?" The pair had met survivors before of course, but that was only around the beginning of their journey. The possibility of more life wasn't something they had necessarily debunked, no, they just happened to see less of it since they normally stayed within the 'shadows'. A few squirrels here and there, one stray cat, and birds. Tons and tons of birds. "It had to have been, unless they've evolved," East's voice trailed off. "Skit. Just like the Baiters did I guess. What if there's something out there, like the Thugs, but more... Human?" Caius looked his companion over as his body started to tense. He instantly knew what was coming next. Easton was quite logical, yes, but when something captivated his interest he'd instantly go with the least logical route. "No, East, don't do it. If something like that did exist think about it-" And then all of a sudden he was gone, racing in the direction of the bullet. Caius sighed and tried to keep up with him, shouting for East to slow down. Creating much more noise than intended.
