It's still a school. Bullying IRL is probably a thing.

And hell, I'd imagine that suicide rate is rather high. Imagine if you screw up in Deep Ground during your graduation year, and suddenly realize that, for the rest of your life, you'd be doing manual labor at minimum wage, because there's no way for you to improve your future after high school ends.

So yeah, death might be a better option than scrapping by for 60 or 70 more years.

In the context of the RP though, the character can simply not get involved in any more incidents, and disappear into the background.
