Name: Hiram York (Or, Hiram of York) Title: Hiram of York, or Hiram the Practical Age: 27 Height: 5' 8" Appearance: Walks about in a fishscale cuirass with chainmail sleeves, with a long piece of a duller green fabric that acts as a hood, and partially hides his armor. A leather belt wraps around his waist; a straight scabbard hangs, with a leafblade sword (slightly longer than a general shortsword), on his left hip. Leather grieves and boots protect his wrists and lower legs and feet; the hilts of two very utiliarian steel knives poke out from the bottom of his grieves, where he can grab and use. Very rare purple eyes stare out underneath very average eyebrows, and a face rougher and more weathered than expected hides underneath his cowl and cloak. He is shorter, but he shows some wide-shouldered attributes, built more like a stout warrior than a reader. He is, however, lean and wiry, rather than bulky, heavily muscled, or fat. He also has a beard, not too long but fairly thick, like the rest of his hair. Sorry- one primary melee weapon. Db: 5 on him; more on the ship he came in on, and he owns (Irrelevant; he will not be returning to that ship) Skills: Adept in running and in quite a few practical areas of knowledge, including strategy and ciphers. Fair with a sword and even better with a dagger, with a quick tongue that can get him in trouble, and out of it.
Have they ever been out to sea? Yup. Quite a few seas, actually. If so, how long ago? He sailed to Bastion. He's also sailed all across the Atlantic-American coast, and the Atlantic-Europe coast, as well as the Atlantic-African coast. Also various other water masses, like the Red Sea. What does your character do to get cash? Sell books, sell information, teach, loot from someone who unsuccessfully tried to mug him. Have they had run ins with the law? Nope. Favorite haunt? Nope. Why are they in Bastion? It's the center of the rich culture of pirates- their slang, their symbols, their suspicions and general beliefs. A goldmine in terms of unique cultural thingies. He wants to KNOW THINGS
