I grew up unhappily. For me, I was one of the unlucky people, a person who grew up in a life of dirt and general unhappy suffering. A silly child who could have became much worse were it not the day I encountered the keys. You see, I grew up with my parents in a town far away from many of the glorious cities of our world, magic sure was thick in the air, but not many people could use it effectively where I lived. I worked at forced labour, it was easy enough if you kept yourself determined to survive. As for who I worked for? The usual scumbags. Greedy rich folk who enjoy abusing people and raking in the profits for themselves. On the outside the town was peaceful, lush green trees and fields, but inside the town was hidden anxiety and fear, and I felt it through much of my childhood. When you live in a town where everyone is miserable and you get occasionally beaten, you tend to lose a lot of hope. I was sick of being forced around like a slave, I didn't desire this, and I wished that I would never have to experience it at all. I stole some rope, tied it near the biggest tree i could find, and intended to end my suffering there on the lush beautiful hills which should be spread with joy, not sadness... That's when I heard a voice, a mans, i thought, pleading me, inside my head to stop. I questioned the voice, and he beckoned me down, beside the tree laid a golden key, beautiful in all its glory, I had never seen anything like it. Lifting it up, the voice was more clear. It called itself out as Taurus... A Celestial spirit... It could sense my angst and desired to know more. When i told him of my pain, and what had happened, he gave me the opportunity to make a contract, and he would help me save my family and the town from these monsters. How could I say no? We came to terms on the dates, and with that, our pact was assured. I used taurus and laid waste to the bastards holding the town under leash and collar, and struck fear into the men and women who were against us. Even against such powerful odds, I stayed strong, and struck down the oppression holding my town. unfortunately, I passed out afterwards. Upon awakening, I was congratulated by the townfolk, and after seeing my deeds, they passed me three silver keys and a pair of dual swords, Lux and Umbra, my father and mothers own, apparently they were in the possession of the fiends. They wanted me to grow stronger and desired me to make the town proud elsewhere. I accepted, I took those three silver keys and left, to save others of my own free will, teaching myself to attack with the swords I was given along the way, i lived by myself, and grew accustomed to the wilderness. I met my own little companion too, a ringtail. I decided to name him Bastion, after my father. People heard of me on the roads, some kid beating up assholes on the roads like some form of vigilantee hero. I didn't realise how much I was at risk, but I eventually, two years later bit off more than I could chew when a powerful wizard attacked me, intent on stealing my keys, but before the wizard could do serious harm, A member of Silver Trident saved me and nursed me to health back in their guild. As a thanks, and for my own protection, I sought refuge in their guild and became a member, at 14. The years went by pretty innocently enough, I met wonderful people and grew attached to everyone pretty easily, whilst continuing to studying the art of swordplay. My personality became more upbeat, I started to enjoy life, and live it to the fullest, and thus, improved. During a competition on one of my missions, I managed to win first place in a competition of skill involving my swords, granting me the Golden key of the archer! Aside from that, nothing very eventful! And now we're here today!
Personality: A laid back, carefree and optimistic person who loves to be around people who like him, Alistair displays himself as always thinking ahead for people, and always on constant worry. He looks after his guild mates and makes sure everything is in working order. Willing to put his life on the line, he is respected for his happy go lucky nature. Of course, in the presence of one of his certain spirits, Alistair becomes... A bit obsessive. He becomes overly energetic and constantly gawks and attaches himself to the spirit whenever possible, and hardly takes into consideration the world around them, as he becomes scarily enraptured in getting the spirits attention, much to that spirits comical displeasure. Relationship?: Nothing is really known about his family or anyone he knew before joining the guild, and he has no known relationships. Others around the guild who likes a relaxed, comical individual like himself would find themselves drawn to his casual attitude who prides himself on keeping people safe. Equipment: Grapplehook: A magic operated device which allows him to shoot a magic laso like hook from a small circular grey orb on his right arm to propell himself upwards to leap away from danger or otherwise reach higher distances. Rapier: While he may be a celestial mage, he has trained in the arte of swordsmanship and always carries two rapiers on his person at all times, appropriately named Lux and Umbra. One is a glistening white blade adorned with angel feathers, with a light blue hue along the middle and the other is a pitch black blade, with a dark purple hue along the middle adorned with a wolfs emblem on the hilt. He can either use one or the other or combine them together for a better movepool of dual bladed strikes. Other: One of the more comical traits of Alistair is that he possesses a rather unusual love and crush for Taurus, which to the spirits horror, ceases to slow him down from continuous denial, and is relentless in pursuing the spirit like an overly attached girlfriend. Hilarity ensues. Alistair also possesses a pet, a ringtail named Bastion which sits sleeping mostly atop his head or on his back.
