The information was gathered by a CIA agent and funneled to the IMF from there. His source was a recently taken in terrorist cell member the field agent came across and got shot upon saying there may be a bomb during his interrogation. The CIA agent escaped, but his cover was blown then. If you want to detail the terrorist cell he found this out from be my guest :3. Information about where they got the possible bomb is unknown.
