Water did make sense but I wanted her to continue to appreciate what it's like not having complete access yet. If anything she probably already has that connection. She only wants to reclaim the things she did not have easy access to before. It's not too important at the moment, working on earth bending was the primary while Tenzin was away. There was a Mayor in place for the people rather than just the council, the mayor began to make decisions for Republic City, I don't think the council of benders were respected anymore after the betrayal of the water bender. I believe the mayor had more power than the council did after that. He wasn't leaving period. I only said that in case you wanted to retcon Katara's presence. :3 Okay, talk can come tonight then :3 That's what I'm saying. Lin held on to that pain for years and all Toph wants her to do is get over it as if Toph hasn't been the biggest influence on her life, ever. Toph didn't need to show any weakness from Lin's words, but it's a fact that Suyin did nothing but be a disappointment to her mother's memory during her youth while Lin did her best to make Toph proud, yet Suyin can get away with it and Lin gets disregarded? I just wasn't comfortable with how Toph was handled, period. I get she's the hardcore mom but she had feelings and could understand emotional pain, so for her to discover that Lin had never really felt like Toph loved her more than anything kind of ruins her as a parent to me. She just did not care enough, but she also understood if Lin hated her, so I can at least applaud her for realizing that, hey, she wasn't the worlds greatest mother. I do wonder about Kanto and where he went, he must have REALLY disliked Toph to not see Lin because of her. Lack of closure for me, definitely. I think it's depressing enough that Katara is a lonely grandmother in the south while her children and grandchildren are so far away. I'd understand if she was there to watch over the new Avatar but after Korra left there was no reason to remain. Team Avatar was just old and lonely. Not even a single HINT as to Sokka's fate and Suki didn't even get a flashback cameo. They could have done better.
