A year ago, death once again came into her life, this time taking the life of her step-dad. His death was deeply felt, more so than the death of her grandmother. He had filled the empty space of her father and Sylvie loved him deeply for it. His death completely changed Sylvie’s relationship with her family. Her mother demands more and more of her, constantly pushing her brothers on her as if they were her responsibility. A role she refuses to accept.
