No one is still sure what caused it, the most popular guess is a vaccine gone wrong or a new disease, no one is certain, and frankly no one cares to be certain anymore, they just care about survival. It's the best train of thought in the world we live in now. Survivors exist, though only outside of the cities which were bloodbaths, life continues in the less densely packed places of the country, the forests, plains, even rumors of communities in the far away mountains. Trust is not a thing that should be easily given to survivors, roving gangs of bandits exist, scowling the land for people to assault, rape, kill and loot. If those don't kill you then the starvation will, or even worse, the undead. But safety can be found in groups, communities of likeminded individuals in highly guarded settlements can be found rarely across the land. One such place is the newly created settlement of Haven, filled with people intent on surviving no matter the odds.

OOC Info:

This roleplay is heavily influenced by The Walking Dead but is not set in the same universe. Other influences include the Fallout series, The Last of Us, The Road, Mad Max and more.
Looking for one more co-GM, message me if interested. These people will serve chiefly as Co-GMs that I can brainstorm with, come up with plot ideas, twists and points. Also, if I am to be unable to run the RP for a period of time, they will run it in my place. Must have experience on the site, GMing experience helps but isn't necessary.
I don't have a set limit on number on the group size, but the RP is set in one settlement so creating and playing multiple characters is highly encouraged. Just make sure they're all individual characters, with room for development, flaws, etc.
The player's actions will have a huge effect on the storyline. Both negatively and positively. Maybe the settlement will be overrun by raiders in the worst possible ending?
I would love it if the entirety of the settlement was filled with PCs. I think if we managed fifteen PCs then that'd be enough for me to enact that. If we get less then I'll make NPCs.
If there's enough interest then I'll get an OOC up. Any questions or concerns can be directed to me.
