It went everywhere. The news was big. The story hit big on every newspaper, every channel reported on it. The legendary leader of the Purge, the Pope of Flames, would be holding his first ever press conference. A public meeting, where he would explain to the world just who the Purge were, and what their goals were. The Purge were well known by now, although opinions on them were divided. Some saw them as heroes, unstoppable vampire slayers who had saved the country, and perhaps even the world, from vampire domination. And some saw them as terrorists, mindless zealots who spread nothing but chaos and terror. They were uncontrolled, unstoppable, and unknown. They had held large recruiting campaigns shortly after allying with SOLDIER and thereby the government, and had played a large part in defeating Magnus Shane and his vampire army. Their numbers had swelled, but they had disappeared when the main vampire host was defeated. This meant two things, of course. First, the Pope would be out in public. This meant that this would be the perfect opportunity to strike him down. Those who wished to take down the Purge would find the snake's head clearly visible, stuck out of the grass. However, it was equally clear that the Purge were aware of Project Freelance. How could they not be? Trap or not, the date of the press conference soon arrived. It was to be hosted at a large abandoned military base, out of the way of any centres of civilisation. Hundreds of reporters had gathered, eager to gather the first scoop on the story. And undoubtedly, others had gathered as well, those with far more sinister intentions.
