You could look at them while they're addressed and try to figure out what kind of people they are based on appearance and what they said back to him. Then there's all the material that can be written from the newest post, with Lorenzo answering questions, the mysterious nature of Stukov's death, and a reaction out of the guy slapping a cute pilot and mutilating another. There's lots of stuff the character can observe upon.
