Appearance: Ames stands at a respectable six feet even, and is hard to spot in a crowd, due to him sharing many physical traits with more than seventy percent of the population. He has thick black hair, though the styling of it changes on an almost daily basis, and brown eyes. 

Usually he enjoys wearing comfortable, yet functional, clothing, olive drab cargo pants, loose shirts, and well fitting running shoes. He has a small wardrobe of radically different clothing though, and he has no qualms against changing his appearance quickly.

Personality: Ames uses personae like many people change jackets, though only one is really himself. He is an easy going guy, easy to get along with and easy to talk around. He has a knack for helping people feel at ease, and he actually enjoys company of others, its just not so often that he gets to have a conversation without being confident the person in front of him isn't trying to kill him. 

Despite popular opinion, and stigma against his particular occupation, Ames has strict principles and a code of conduct. It might be a small list, but its important to him, important enough to bleed and even die for. On the rare occasion he actually makes a true friend, he puts his full trust into them. Ames is always dependable, and absolutely devoted to those close to him. He does tend to bend the truth though, and this leads to problems at times.

History: Ames has a relatively peaceful past. He grew up in a well to do family, entrepreneurs in a shipping company, and benefited from a good home, good education, and separation from seeing the hard side of life. 
When he did eventually see the world around him for what it really was though, he resented the way that people treated the less well to do. The courts and government he used to see as a just and lawful system quickly revealed themselves to be the corrupt and rotten bureaucracies they really were. He especially resented the way his family saw the problems. They encouraged him to forget about it, tried to convince him that this was how the world was, not a nice, tidy utopia but a working system.

Ames couldn't accept that, or a role in it. He completed his education, and sought a way to change things. He started small at first, organizing secure communications for protest groups and setting up small publicity stunts to "open the eyes" of the populace. His work did not go unnoticed. But before CSEC could get to him, the Terra Libertas did, saving him from prison time and possibly death. Seeing an organization of like minded people, Ames quickly fit in, making a name for himself.

Occupation: Ames officially works at a branding company, which uses laser etchers to engrave information into different metallic products, a legitimate business. Though this is largely a front, he could realistically be labeled as anything from smuggler to saboteur to courier.

Weaponry: Ames rarely engages in work which requires offensive capabilities, and when he does he can rely on several armories which do not belong to him. Again it has a custom paint job, and is augmented by a muzzle break, front grip, Yeotek red dot sight, and duct taped magazines for faster reloads.

Augments:
Ames generally frowns on augments, they are easy to track, hard to hide, and occasionally a nuisance. There is one he has had implanted though, a No-Mess Vanity Module. It allows him to change eye and hair color in mere seconds, and to even grow facial hair over the course of a few hours, though that process in particular is painful and can occasionally end in complications.

Other: 
Darik Amst Herath has an absolutely clean criminal record. Not so, his alternate identities. With all of them combined, he has enough charges against him to be locked up for several lifetimes or killed, not counting the things he has gotten away with. 

Ames goes through a lot of trouble to stay unnoticed, untraceable, and untouched. He is skilled in espionage tradecraft, but realizes the need for some amount of combat training. Due to this, he is extremely well versed in the use of his pistol, and knows enough about the SMG to put some lead on target.
