This is making Astarte grow anxious and utterly bored. Kuro's Village, now known as the Village of Kur, has grown and thrived over these 80 years. Astarte taught them Astartian Warding. Astarte grants Kuro's top students immortality. One of those students is Kari, the woman who broke some of Vestec's bones in a fair fight. Astarte creates an Avatar, which successfully runs away from Kuro.

The village was at peace. It had been for the last decade, since the Undead attack was repelled. Nothing other than the elements and the strange wildlife had attacked the settlement, and Kuro could work in sync with his students to develop better, deadlier fighting styles. During all of this time, Astarte watched, exasperated. She had once tried to have some fun with the village, but Kuro was quick to reprimand her. Since then she knew that, unfortunately, causing even harmless chaos in the settlement was against her interests. And so the settlement grew rapidly. With children's laughter filling the villagers' homes and adults working the fields and building new homes for the maturing children, Kuro was happy and content. Astarte wasn't. Sixty years after the foundation of the Village of Kur, Astarte taught them Astartian Warding, a magic they would routinely use to reinforce their village's defenses. One of the wards specifically prohibited magic users lacking the Astartian Mark from using magic within the limits of the Village. Others were set to provide the Village with light when night fell upon them, and others were set to provide heat and help the crops grow. And Astarte was still bored out of her mind; anxious and desperate to go out and play around with the mortals in her own way, she was hiding deep in her temple during this time. Sometimes she'd speak to herself or summon some creature and pretend it was a human. No human, though, as Kuro made it clear a decade ago that he didn't want her messing with them. That lasted for a short time, as soon she realized she could create an Avatar, a copy of herself that could leave the Temple without Kuro knowing. And so she created it. Effectively, it left the temple and nobody realized it. Kuro then approached Astarte and asked her to grant his top students, who were also the oldest, immortality. She agreed. Eighty years after the foundation, the village thrived as Astarte never believed a human settlement could with her within its limits.
