You'd need a pretty believable reason for them to be famous, especially since they're not canon. Check the character tab, I have a Minamoru clan sheet there that you can use to describe the clan, that way you can say how they are famous.

Either that or you can just describe it in the history, but that'd be pretty hard to do in a summarizing manner.
