There probably is something to be said for the speed of the point of certain weapons though, which at the very least give them the illusion of speed. Which I believe is why spears are so deadly, because with very minimal body movement you can move the head of a spear a good distance incredibly quick. Ultimately I suppose if there was one sword that outmatched every other in terms of speed in every circumstance there would only be one type of sword that survived the test of time, which is untrue.
Thrusting weapons do tend to be quicker (and deadlier) than slashing weapons. Though my mini rant was more pertaining to the myth of 'fast' swords. There is difference in swing speed, but the difference is so minuscule it wont make a major difference most of the time. The only real hindrance is often weapon recovery speed. Which is only really telling if you put to much into one swing. (which once again spears win out on) One of the reasons spears tended to be the most majorly used form of weapon. Aside from the ease of training. (and how cheap they were) Anyway, it would be interesting to see what Fury ends up with. Especially how he ends up with it. Canon wise the mage-killer ore used in Tablurath's swords are super rare, I think I had one source on that spider world back in Nexus. He might end up getting his sword in the Multiverse Arena, depending on when he needs to get it anyway.
