Hundreds of years ago, many types of mythological creatures were abundant. However, with the introduction of mankind to their habitat, the exotic beasts' numbers rapidly declined. Humans thought that these animals were monsters that must be slayed or sold to the highest bidder. Slowly, but surely, the number of dragons, unicorns, and other mythological creatures were becoming nonexistent.

Yet, the creatures did not go extinct. Mankind suddenly decided that they needed these dragons and pegasi and other beasts for one reason or another. And so, they roam Earth to this very day. This does not mean that they are treated with respect, however. Especially in New York City. 

A group of mercenaries has suddenly made themselves known to the world. They have begun to hunt down mythological creatures once more, but they have not revealed their true goal. Many beasts have gone into hiding, but the world is not kind to them, especially to those who have a foot in both worlds.
