^ Ignore that other post. Go read the IC before you read this >:3 Holy shit I think that's the longest I've had to sit and muse about an approach for a long time. Could you believe that none of the things Tenzin, Mako, and Korra said were things I premeditated for once? I actually had to look at your posts as I wrote these and really think about the appropriate choice, and although I initially had a hard time believing that everyone would do what they're doing, in the end it made sense. Lin's obviously needing some additional support and Tenzin would be a fool to pretend Lin isn't asking for acknowledgment of her own emotions right now. If he were to deny her that, he'd be no better than Toph, really. Asami is lighting the flame of passion they once had and through the kindness and care she's shown him, Mako is experiencing the guilt. It actually physically hurt to not say 'yes' immediately, since he was recalling just what he did to a great girl like her. And in the end he confesses that he wants to be the man he was to her before, and always should have been. Korra was the easiest. I did NOT expect her to ask that last question but that was the beauty of writing it. Bolin is obviously still wounded and he has that right, but that uncomfortable silence between them shouldn't go ignored. She wants him to be honest while they have this privacy. If it's too hard for them to go on as if she didn't break his heart, she'd want Bolin to tell her now, not as a threat to end the relationship but to make it clear that Bolin will always be discomforted in some form by that memory of her, and Korra doesn't want it to be this way. Anyway, wow, this was frustrating but immensely fun to write. Considered so much. Even went to http://www.merriam-webster.com/ to spice up the ol' vocabulary. Hope you like them :3
