I don't think Lin's being too emotional. What if it was him in that bed instead of Pema? Given that every other target could bend, that reality was narrowly avoided. Tenzin bringing them together like that was to hear her out, he's hoping she does confess her true feelings on the situation they're in. Or she could kiss him, either way he's getting the idea. I don't even know if he's getting home at this point xD

Well the reluctance is of his own doing, nothing of hers, so she shouldn't feel too bad. It's his fault they're this way now, after all. The best way for Asami to handle that fear is confronting it. There's going to be times where Asami won't be with Mako and Korra, and she'll need to trust him to remember the girl he's holding hands with now. He's already confessed his ideal relationship with her and it's a borderline request for marriage X.X

The goal is making sure they can stay friends before becoming lovers, and I imagine in the future Korra might make a move on him. I didn't plan on this coming up as I wrote, so let's make it a feel-good experience by the end of it.
