They can know things that are relative to the plot at the time, but I don't want to see people talking about

"im sad."

 "your mother lives in michagan and you left when you were eight"

 because that has nothing to do with the plot.

If you were an angel or demon and someone said:

"_________ is really sad today."

you could reply,

"-You seem distraut, perhaps its because of your childhood." The angel replied

"Yes, I-"

"-lived with her until you were eight, she misses you dearly." The angel smiled.

"How did you know all that?"

"Lucky guess".

Not only that, but that rule is in place so that people don't know exactly where the villain is and just 'happen' to be there; in real life if your enemy was in the same mall, chances are you wouldn't even notice unless someone said something.
