There's nothing wrong using what technology is available and affordable. I loved being having the projector so my professors could have things like maps, diagrams, key points, etc displayed while giving their lecture. I still wrote it down not because we couldn't just go print it out but it helps me remember if I write it myself. 

Speaking of old, Mike, you're not old unless you remember the ditto machine. Dat purple.
