He can also heighten his body's density, making him diamond-hard, providing resistance to injury. Dom is also able to phase a body part (such as his hand) into the body of another person and increase the density, causing great physical damage. The shunting of his molecules to increase density allows for a degree of increased strength. At present it seems that Dominic’s ability is limited to however long he can hold his breath. Over time and maturation, it is plausible that he might be able to gather a further degree of control and alter his density via a mere thought for further extended periods of time, perhaps even permanently. Psychological Profile & History: Dominic Rhodes was born in Cardiff, Wales. Raised in the countryside on a farm; Dom’s early life was very simple. His life was a routine of early mornings, feed the animals, milk the cows, tend to what needed tended to, head into town to sell what they could and then back home in time for supper. It was a quiet life many would crave, Dom from a very early age, always felt like he was destined for more. This relatively tough early life instilled in him the drive and determination many of his generation lack. This isolated upbringing also stunted Dom’s inter-personal growth. The absence of friends around him meant that his social interactions left something to be desired. He desperately struggled to form any lasting bonds with anyone so he found solace in music, often just sitting with his headphones on rather than talk to people. Although Dom did attend public school in the city, he still struggled to fit in. After a while he began to enjoy the solitude and began to pursue solitary pass times like swimming, climbing and he eventually graduated to mountaineering, often going off on long trips with his father to traverse the harshest mountains the UK had to offer. Eventually, Dominic developed an interest in trying out for the Olympic boxing team for London 2012 and at the behest of his gym trainer, he began to hone is skills and train hard. Dom was well in with a shot to be picked for the Olympic team but sadly, a severe injury to his hand on the farm put an end to that dream and affected his confidence severely. While in rehab for his hand, Dominic received a call from a man named Suresh, telling him that he believes that he might have a very unique genetic marker. Believing it to be his former team mate Ravi playing a prank, Dom hung up the phone. During his time at the rehabilitation clinic, the young man struck up a friendship with another patient named Jason. Jason was a former soldier who had been struck by some shrapnel and was now unable to walk. The two men became fast friends, even to the point that whenever Jason skyped with his sister, he would allow Dominic to join in the conversation. After a while, Jason’s sister began skyping Dom by himself and the developed a close relationship, bordering on romantic but neither ever able to fully admit that fact. She even sent him a watch which he never takes off. Once he left the rehabilitation clinic, Dom returned to the farm. Still believing there was more for him out there, he moved to the city shortly after and began training to becoming a firefighter. Everything changed on the day of Dominic’s first official rescue. Heading out in the mid afternoon to a tenement fire, Dom and his team rushed in in search people stuck inside. When the roof came down, Dom’s ability activated for the first time and the sheer density of his body held up the building whilst his colleagues could escape. Hailed as a hero by others but terrified of himself, Dominic has been using his spare time to test his newfound skills but three months on from the eclipse, he is about to be roped into the fight of his life… First Known Manifestation (If applicable): Called to a tenement fire, a group of firefighters enter the massive inferno in search of survivors. One of the group, Dominic, ascends to the attic. Once there, he discovered a young girl trapped by her collapsed bed. Pulling her from beneath it, he takes her into his arms and prepares to descend when part of the roof gives way and blocks the stairs. Trapped; he looks to the window and sees the sun engulfed by an unexpected eclipse. Just as the sun re-appears, the rest of the ceiling gives way. Collapsing to the floor, Dom shields the young girl with his body and holds his breath. The ceiling hits his back but he does not feel it. As the rest of the firefighters escape the blaze, they see that something is holding up the ceiling, something that looks like steel, unaware that this is Dom. Unable to hold his breath any longer, Dominic opens his eyes and he and the little girl fall through the floor, incorporeal they pass through the three stories until they hit the ground floor. Landing on his back, Dom has no time to think and quickly darts out of the building for it collapse. Clutching the girl tight, he looks at the carnage and begins to wonder just how they had survived. “You did it” The little girl said. “Don’t worry, I’ll keep your secret” She whispered.
