Character: Gray ------------------ Name: My name? It is unimportant. People simply call me Gray. Alias: Gray; Grey Knight; Grey Paladin Faction Alignment: My faction…? Haha. I walk the delicate line drawn between the light and the darkness. Grey, shadow, fade… Whatever you call it, that’s where I am. Age: Just how old am I… hmm… it is not a matter of numbers. But I have been conscious for twenty-two years. I cannot say that that is how old my soul is. Gender: I am a male. Height: I am precisely five feet and 6 inches tall. Size will not indicate my capabilities, you shall find. Weight: Without my armor, I weigh a varying 140 lbs. With my armor, even if it is weightless to me, increases my weight by a further 100 lbs. Body Type: I am quite masculine, especially in my arms and torso. My legs are strong from carrying the weight of this mail. I am what one would call to be “Lean.” General Appearance: One may find my features plain, or inextraordinary. I have average length brown hair; paired with a set of brown eyes. There is a black ring lining the outside of the colored part of my eyes. I have a slightly paled olive skin tone, and legs slightly longer in proportion to my torso. Tattoos or Distinguishing Features: I have perfect features, unmarred by grease or smudge. I would not dare to tarnish my skin with markings of an inked needle. -----Aptitudes & Combat Specs----- Inventory: Carried upon my body, besides my armor, are several weapons of note, each crafted from the combination of Celestallium and Daementarium – a combination which I call Universarium. I possess one katana, one shortsword, two daggers with blades of 1.5 ft each, one Daementarium greatsword which can channel different magicks, two tomahawks, and an expertly crafted bow, which uses arrows created from Light, Darkness, or Dusk, and therefor uses no ammunition. Adorning my body is a helmet, hauberk, pauldrons, a chestplate, gauntlets, cuisse, greaves, and boots, each of which has been forged from the separate pits of Celestallium and Daementarium. Beneath these pieces of armor is a very tough leather, protecting my skin from the wear that the metal would cause. I wear many baubles and accessories, mainly rings and necklaces. There is one piercing upon both of my ears, each of which holds a certain power that is passive to me, increasing my speed and my perception. My rings gift me the strength to deftly wield any weapon, and my necklaces grant me the ability of short-term minor healing. Each of these were acquired by my presence and studies within the realms of Light and Dark, also being forged of the same Universarium material. Unique Abilities: I have extreme perception when wearing my earrings. They cannot be removed under normal conditions. Despite being held within this armor, it is a part of my soul. The weight has been with me my entire life, and I am actually quite more agile than you would think. Magic : I am a Grey Magick adept, using the schools of Light and Dark, along with everything in between. However, I am limited to this scale of magicks... I am afraid that the knowledge of these great schools is far too much for my mortal soul to contain anything else. Do not be fooled; my prowess with these magicks alone has felled many a demon, and many an angel. Techniques: "The Ever-Piercing Light" This is the command upon the magicks revolving mainly around the Light realm, maintaining the Light element and occasionally branching into Dusk or Dark elements. This is a pure magick, incapable of being countered but very quick; and often weak. This is not a ruling factor for this magick, however. "The Stilled-Neutral Dusk This is the command upon the magicks revolving around the Dusk realm, very rarely being fully Dusk-element and usually branching out into either Light, Dark, or both after a timeframe. This is a muttled magick, occasionally failing or falling short of it's full effect; but when successful is very, very powerful, especially when the magick is not branched and is focused within itself. "The All-Consuming Dark" This is the command upon the magicks revolving around the Dark realm, very often maintaining it's pure form and very rarely branches out to contain Light magick, but is often mixed with a strain of the Dusk magicks. This is an insincere magick, very often dealing minimal damage but tends to have an "exploding" moment eventually, often being used for an infectious or crippling effect. Stages: Antumbra- This is Gray's most neutral, and his standing form. It is by far his lesser powerful form, but his magick ability is evenly split and he is completely in-tune with himself. Umbra- This is Gray's most Dark and defensive form. In this form, his Dark magicks will stack in effect, as he keeps himself unharmed. Penumbra- This is Gray's most Light and offensive form. In this form, his power will have increased, but several pieces of his armor will be missing, leaving him to move faster but also be more open to attack. ----Psychological----- Temperament: I am very calm and tactful; however do not insult me or my loved ones, I tend to have bouts of rage towards those who are rude or unwelcomely flaunt their power. I like to look everything over before making decisions; and when deciding I am quick and hasty in my choices. History: Jace was once a young boy, endowed with odd and peculiar gifts. Many who saw him could never tell what was wrong, but always had a strange feeling about him. His shadow never seemed quite right. Always too long, or too short, or even very dim in bright daylight. His soul was older than he knew; yet the look upon his face always made him seem older than he was. The lad spent many hundreds of years transpiring over his several past lives within the realms of Light and Darkness, his soul traversing both paths to find his purpose. In one past life, he sunk into the Darkness, gaining demonic strength and fusing with Daementarium, imbuing him with the magicks of evil. Within this past life he walked the planet, causing darkness where he stepped and spitting black ichor on the ground. In the background of every artistic rendering of the Black Plague times, he was always seen with his back turned to a large cluster of the dead, blackened bodies. In this life, when his time had come, he released his soul once again, to travel the two realms once more. In a fit of atonement, he desperately sought the Light, and it welcomed him. Stripped of the Daementarium of the rival realm, he was equipped with Celestallium instead, imbuing him with the magicks of holiness. The pure white metal gleaned against his body in odd places, and people who saw the boy would occasionally be forced to squint at his radiance, and uncontrollably drop to a knee in respect. His knowledge helped to create new technologies, and cure the illnesses never seen before. When his time came yet again, the body he left behind was burned, and the metal pieces on his body were recovered, becoming rings and jewelry that rested upon the head of the Mary, Queen of Scotts. Having treaded both these paths, the soul of Jace felt at peace with the Light, preferring it’s influence over the darkness. But, a part of him longed for the power and strength provided by the Dark, while the other part appreciated the wisdom and courage provided by the Light. One day, in the lost millennia, Jace vowed to bring the powers of Light and Dark together to end the age-old war between them. This was a feat attempted by many, and completed by none. However, he enlisted the help of three wise sages: the Dark Sage, the Light Sage, and Sage who traversed the dusk in between the two. With all their help, he gathered the elements Celestallium and Daementarium, and brought them to the Dusk Sage. Much time was spent forging the two elements before they finally succeeded in melding them together, and Jace’s time to return to earth once again was approaching. Equipped with this new metal formed into plates of grey-silver armor, he entered the world to balance the scale between the Light and the Darkness. Imbued in his chest upon birth was a small piece of the armor, which over his years grew into a full set of plates and mail. It is today that he stands, wielding his grown weapons and new metal substance, to slash the attempts of the Dark, and quell the overjustices of the Light, by combining their powers into his unique magicks…
