Soul catcher actuall is only limited to dying souls like he isn't able to take  soul from a being without it being dead, and he has to release the soul into the neither world . Its just his job his rules and each princeable knows each rule they have as well as limits to what they can do. And just like all things they can be banished, killed or even stripped of powers.
