That actually works rather well for Jacer's goals, as to get one step closer to his World he would have to 'beat' the next level. :p I might be adding one more to that, Jacer's world, when I finally get him fully fleshed out. Though this now brings me to an interesting topic: PC death. Namely as I assume, by default, most battle will likely be to the death and so should I treat this like DnD where I should have multiple PCs on hand to replace those that die or is there a way to bring a PC back to life after they die? I'm asking this because I have a habit to go all out on a conflict and I won't break character just because I know the move he's making is a bad, which in normal life and death situations could cause a PC to die. It's rare, but a real possibility. Not to mention I'm adding like about two major NPCs that act like an in story weakness for Jacer, his brother Domenic(Dom for short) and their animal companion. Both which could be considered support or none combative rather than combative. So I have massive concerns in that case and if I should alter the tale a bit in the event death is a heavy possibility without coming back at all.
A great question; GET OUT! Heh, but yes generally due to the nature of the Multiverse, those who die tend to get sent to the spirit plane. Which of course also has a nexus gate, so generally this is used as the reason why people can have their characters return. Though in some cases some people on rare occasion make death final for story purposes. This is optional though. In the past we had an Omniverse, which was basically where all the planes merged into one world. Making death even less meaningless. XD
