[@21308][@Akayaofthemoon] I have to agree. I think that the moment Jasper saw Pearl acting upon her own volition, she labeled her as defective. Anything and everything that isn't cookie-cutter is wrong and suitable. Pearls are what I can assume are servants, cannon fodder, or something similar. Had Pearl been designated to anyone other than Rose, I can assume that she'd be the perfect servant. She thinks freely because that's the kind of person Rose wanted her to be. She didn't want pearl to be another filled in template. She wanted her to be like a human. To which is why she has such distaste for Greg. Pearl aspired to be exactly everything Rose wanted her to be, yet she found true love in Greg. A lone, free thinking wanderer whith no place of his own. Pearl saw him as she goal she could never achieve. She could never truly be like him, despite how much she tried. Now, after Sardonyx week, Garnet tells Pearl that she is strong, capable. She's her own person. She didn't need Garnet, or Rose, or to be more like Greg. Pearl was Pearl. Not A Pearl.
