[@Akayaofthemoon] Yeah, I think that's what Pearl meant when she said Rose made her feel like everything.  If Rose ever consciously turned Pearl down, I think this is why.  She knew that being able to stand on her own was going to be a crucial part of Pearls growth, and she wouldn't be able to have that if she was constantly relying on Rose for strength.
