Over the course of the next two days, Jack kept himself busy with patrols. He couldn't take a spare Slaughter Dagger out, the OS was too clunky for him, so he did it on foot, patrolling no more than a few feet from the Sundown with an assault rifle in hand. Fortunately, the joint damage hadn't been so sufficient that it took a long time, but he couldn't find the will to climb into the cockpit again while fellow pilots were being buried. After the two days, he finally thanked Yuri and got in the cockpit, sealing it and cranking up the music. he took a moment to write a sign then taped it to the outside of the cockpit. It read:
If you need me, knock really loud. If that doesn't work, get the bridge to hail me.
Of course, he had the music down low enough he would hear the knocking, but just in case he didn't, a back up plan seemed in order.
