[@Ariamis] Well undead are mages who used their magic to keep themselves alive, they suffer nothing the living do they only suffer from rotting away which they keep away by using magic. However a Lich is a person who deliberately dies in order to become stronger and closer to the death that they hold so dear. So a person could become a Lich per say but they would be a lot weaker then they were in their previous life due to having to focus their magic into suntanning their body and keeping their soul anchored to it. However If a person could create an artificial body that does not have to worry about things such as rot then they may be able to avoid the troubles of using their original body.
