[The Gorgon Queen] 1x1, Advanced, Fantasy, Short Term World: The Peninsula of Ipari Setting: High Fantasy, Greco-Roman Style Plot: In the capital city of Tenosia, a man bursts into the throne room amid the court. Gasping for breath and nearly dead, he introduces himself as a guard from the town on the eastern face of the great mountain. He brings chilling news. There is a Gorgon Queen named Sapphira who has somehow managed to harness the power of the Moonlight Bow. Using its strength she has rallied hundreds to her hand. The town is in ruin, and it is rumored that she intends to open Phoena’s Portal. The court waves the incident off as fear-mongering, and elects for a group of 100 meager soldiers to go to the town and investigate. However, once there, the soldiers find nothing but a bloodbath. Ambrus, one of the men sent to investigate, barely survives the attack and managed to stumble his way to the nearby river in the north. It is there that he is found, unconscious and hardly breathing. Character: Human characters are preferred. This setting will shy away from traditional fantasy races, so try to be creative when coming up with a character. Also note if you intend to play a female warrior, women are not allowed to be a part of the military in this kingdom. Therefore, you are going to have to find an interesting way to make it work. This is encouraged. I will be playing Ambrus and, ideally, your character is the one who finds him. Final Notes: Keep in mind that this plot is short term. Once Sapphira has been defeated or killed, the roleplay ends. Now, if things go well, we can talk about turning this into a more long term thing. However, I tend to prefer short-term when it comes to 1x1s. If you are interested in this plot and would like to know more about it and the world, PM me. As with most of my plots, this one is subject to be altered over time. I will keep this updated as much as I can. ***** [Welcome] Hello! I am Gimple, and I have been roleplaying since 2009. I am 22, male, and making my way through college. Currently, I work as a small time copywriter making decent enough pay, but recently I have found a yearning for a more creative outlet, driving me to return to roleplaying. For now, that is all you need to know about me. Now, on to the rest! (P.S. Please note that some of this is still a work in progress. If it seems sloppy, I apologize. I am working on tidying things up.) [Requirements] I will roleplay with anyone — male, female, or otherwise — as long as they are above the age of 18. However, if there is to be any sort of romantic connotations between our characters, I will only roleplay with females. I and all of my characters are straight. It should be noted that I tend to STRAY AWAY from romance. But, if romance does, for whatever reason, come up in the roleplay, I have a few rules (see [Romance] section for further elaboration). As far as post length, I prefer a paragraph at the least. That’s all I will say. I am a quality over quantity kind of guy and, while I tend to pump out longer and more multi-paragraph posts, I do not necessarily require the same of my partner. If you can move the plot forward, teach me about your character, and add something interesting to the story in your 5 sentence paragraph, then go for it. For characters, I’m not terribly picky as long as it can fit in the setting. OC’s are ALWAYS better to me than characters that fit into some sort of cannon. I don’t usually play cannon, and will be hesitant to accept if that is something you propose. I work best in player created worlds. That’s about all the requirements I can think of for now. If more comes to mind, I will update this. In the meantime, onward!
[Setting] I work best in either the High Medieval Fantasy or SteamPunk genres. I’m a sucker for Dark Fantasy. I can potentially be convinced to do Sci-Fi. Anything else is extremely rare. My world and my characters are tailored to one (or many) of these three genres. Keep that in mind when approaching me for a roleplay.

[World] As I said before, I work best in player created worlds. If you have a world you would like to play in, wonderful. Feel free to pitch it to me and if I can figure out a way to work in one of my characters, I will gladly do that. However, I tend to create worlds that we can use as well. Most of the time, these worlds are rough sketches made up of just a few sparse rules and kingdoms. Sometimes I will go more in depth and have a some lore and a map for the world. When that becomes the case, I will provide everything here.

[Romance] I roleplay for the story, action, and adventure. I don’t tend to focus at all on the romance. However, I do have some strict rules just in case. The rules: I will NOT roleplay smut. At all. Romance will NOT be the center focus of the plot. I heavily prefer chaste* romance. That being said, many of my characters tend to be widowers, married, or have no interest in pursuing a relationship. Still, I am not against romance in a roleplay as long as the criteria I put forward are respected.
*chaste romance is here defined as anything that does not stray into the realm of sexual. Making out, groping, etc. is not chaste. Pecks on the cheek, hugs, embraces, etc. are. My personal policy when writing romance is “less is more”. Romantic feelings can, in my opinion, be seen as more powerful when they remain unspoken and more internal or silently understood between the characters.
Consider this exchange of dialogue between the characters of Han Solo and Leia Organa during the climactic end of the gunslinging and charismatic hero for an example of what I mean. Leia: I love you. Han: I know. Boom. Done. A world of subtext spoken between two characters in five words.

[Characters] I touched upon this briefly before, but I tend to not be terribly picky with your characters. I just want to reiterate a few things: If romance is to be a thing, your character (and preferably you as well) must be female I don’t like to roleplay with cannon characters in an OC setting Characters must fit the setting No Mary or Marty Sues No Godmodding characters Characters must be above the age of 18 Outside of these rules, just about everything else is O.K. with me. If you are unsure of something in regards to your character and the setting, let me know and we can talk it out. Most of my plots tend to be action and adventure oriented plots, but that does not mean that your character needs to be battle hardened as well. I have (to great success, mind you) done a roleplay where my character was a fighter and my partner’s was not. I have found that using and partnering up with interesting characters can lead to a variety of neat interactions. Keep that in mind as well when approaching me about a roleplay. As far as my characters, well, I have a lot of skeletons, so to speak. I have names and rough outlines, but nothing truly defined. This allows me to shape and flesh out my characters according to the roleplay at hand. I like to remain as flexible as possible.
[Final Notes] If you are interested, either PM me or post here and we can chat. I roleplay almost strictly in PM. We can discuss posting schedules there. I’m a one trick pony, I’m afraid. I can only take on maybe one roleplay at a time. Everything that I’m looking for will be updated both in the title and at the top of the request form. Please look for this and if I’m not seeking that means I’m absolutely NOT seeking. I pride myself on my quality and if I start to take on more than one roleplay at a time, my quality drops significantly. Again, I apologize if some of this seems rough or unfinished. I’m working on getting it up to speed. Cheers! ~Gimple
