Another solution is to leech off someone's wifi, but I'm sure they'd much rather not have to deal with that problem [i]at all[/i] over changing their habits (which, previously, had apparently worked quite well). I mean, if I was a phoneaholic and didn't have ready access to my home computer, I'd be a bit miffed that the pages I commonly go to have buttloads of huge .gifs for no reason other than [i]flavor[/i].

We could easily make a compromise by keeping it optional, or gently but firmly request that people use still images. .gifs don't add all that much to a picture's worth.
