Personally, as a newbie, it would be nice to start off with clean sweep of points. Though the global points would still class fighters for over all determining ranks (aka, vet, newbie, etc), the fresh start might make it seem less discouraging to someone who might not do so well with fighting and over time add up as they start to get the handle on the basics, technique and such of the actual workings of the arena. Though that's just my thoughts. >_>
