I'd rather you did.  I'm not saying that it can't be 'like' other games (there are only so many genres, after all).  It doesn't even have to be a full game, with unique mechanics, it could simply be an [url=http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Expy]expy[/url] of a game that you really like.  The character that I'm thinking of making is from a by-the-numbers anime style fighting game, for instance.

The games are going to be used as different settings, much like in the movie.
