The first time I was wet and freaking out. Seeing lightning going straight down within less than a mile is creepy to say the least. The second time the lightning was further off, though the rain wasn't. Forks of light illuminated the thick blanket of clouds. That one time was awesome. The third time was literally terrifying. I got home pretty soon but walked outside into the backyard to "experience" it better. A bolt must have hit pretty close by cause the thunder and flash happened almost simultaneously. Never heard a thunder quite like that.
