Now I have to balance the feels by setting a scenario. Imagine if, shortly after today, Mars gets corrupted after getting infected by a gem monster. He goes on a rampage, prompting a military response from humans. Candice and a squad if soldiers get sent into Mars' lair, a now abandoned hospital. One by one, the squad is picked off by him until the only one left is Candice. He pounces on her, seeming ready to strike. . . only to nuzzle into her chest, giving off a soft purring sound. It shifts into a growl as he backs off, his eyes changing from Tiger's solid gold to his multi-colored eyes. He knows he's putting Candice in danger, so he holds his arm out, revealing the gem. The message is clear.

The sound of a gunshot rings throughout the building, then there is naught but silence to follow.
