The kobold relaxed a bit and after a moment, Andrew asked another question.

"Wait. You said that this city was here once. You saw the city before it was reduced to ruins?"

"Oh yes. It was very nice." 

"But... how old are you?" 

"21. That's young for a kobold, but we reach adulthood much sooner than humans."

"So, are you telling me that this city was destroyed just a few years ago?"

"Yes."

"So, how is it that everyone around here refers to these ruins as ancient?" 

"They do? I didn't know that. Never talked to the humans around here" the kobold answered.
