Looking for some RP?
Awww yisss. Look, I'm angling for some RP buddies, I hope you like what you sea. I'm not just feeding you a line, and I swear all these ocean puns are not on porpoise. Water you talking about, these are great! ...Still no? ._.
Please sea below for more information.
 1. I don't do romance-based RPs. Romance in the RP is fine; an entire plot focused on it? Not so much. I also prefer fade-to-black on sex, I find that kind of RP a little boring, but that's just a preference, not an absolute. 2. I tend to play male characters. I might have some female NPCs or side characters, but for the most part, you can expect my "main" character(s) to be male. 3. While I want high casual to advanced RP, I'm not a stickler for post length. I don't want my partner to spend three paragraphs describing the sunset just to try and meet some arbitrary paragraph limit, and I won't do that just to meet someone else's arbitrary reply length. I expect your characters to have depth, I expect collaboration on plot development, and I expect to be given something to reply to in your posts. You don't need a novel to meet all of those qualifications. If I post a huge-ass response, or intro, or whatever, don't feel like you have to match it. Detail is nice (and I do like long posts, don't get me wrong) but forced detail just to have quantity... isn't. Give me quality, and I'll be happy. Besides, sometimes really long posts kill the rhythm of an RP, such as rapid-fire conversation or heavy action sequences. If we're at a point where a long post would sort of kill the mood, don't feel like you need to force it. In the words of Shia Labeouf, JUST DO IT! 4. I hate that I have to say this, but don't message me to RP, get the intro, and then never say anything to me ever again. I don't... get that. Tell me what's wrong. :( A mature parting of ways is possible, and doesn't leave a bad taste in my mouth. If we can't collaborate, our styles don't mesh, or you're tired of the RP... let me know. I'll do the same. I will never abandon an RP without talking to my partner before hand. To do otherwise is just obnoxious. 5. I would like to keep an OOC conversation going alongside the RP too. We don't have to talk all the time, but it's helpful with planning and scheming the course of the RP. 6. I'd rather not do character sheets. I don't really... get it? I always make new characters for every RP; I don't recycle, so I don't have a bunch of set resumes for characters to use. I prefer to develop the character throughout the RP, not turn them into a list of facts before the RP even starts. If information needs to be determined before the RP, that's different (if we're playing two characters who have a history together, for instance, obviously we need to hammer out details of their past). If it's not necessary information to begin the RP, then... you'll learn it during the RP, yeah? That's... part of the fun? 7. I prefer to RP via PMs. Easier for me to track with my schedule, guarantees I won't forget somone. Thread is a possibility but you'd have to convince me as to why it'd be better than PMs. Really this is for your sake and my sanity. Genres? I'll try just about anything (again, so long as it isn't a plot revolving around romance). I prefer RPs with a bit of horror in them, whether that horror comes from a serial killer, zombies, aliens, whatever. I like the blood and guts and grit and terror and misery. An RP involving some or all of the above is my cup of tea. I do like to start the RP out with at least a very rough outline of where we're taking it. Some sort of plot, goal, etc. I'm very open and receptive to plots people pitch at me. Any questions, please post or PM. ...This post is kind of a mess, so many people have such pretty little sectioned boards and I'm just over here making ocean puns. Disclaimer: Also I work for a non-profit organization that runs 24hours. My shifts are usually from 2pm central time to 10pm. I have days off during the week, as well as some weekends off... but most of my posting during my 'work weeks' will be later at night (my time, at least). Edited to add a couple more rules. Didn't realize some of the common questions/requests many RPers around here have, I hate to waste other peoples' time by not having that stuff known upfront. Also to include my typical schedule.
