Name: Olivia Ross Age: 24 (born March 28th, 1990) Origin: Los Angeles metro area, California Residence: Inglewood, California Occupation: Martial arts instructor Relationships: Diane Ross (mother, single since Olivia was born) ; unknown father (was abusive towards Olivia's mother) ; Annabelle Ross (maternal grandmother, lives in Harvey, Illinois) ; Dwayne Jackson (best friend) Appearance: Olivia is African-American, and has a fairly toned body for a female frame. She has brown eyes, and wears her hair as neck-length dreadlocks tied back in a short ponytail. For clothes, she wears a black T-shirt with her martial arts club's logo on it, a pair of denim jeans, and white athletic shoes. Her facial structure can be described as square-ish with rounded edges. History: Olivia was born on March 28th, 1990 to a mother that had no choice but to give up her dysfunctional marriage to an abusive man. She never knew her father. Her parents divorced shortly before she was born, and her mother has raised her single ever since. Olivia is 24 now, but she continues to live with her mother in their small house in Inglewood. She had a modest upbringing from preschool to the start of high school. She grew up a happy young girl, despite the circumstances of her parents breaking up, and having never known her real father. She never really got good grades in subjects like math and science, but she did develop an interest for physical education, which led to her passion for martial arts. Olivia was a pretty lucky young girl through school and didn't get picked on much, but it all changed in Grade 10 when she was raped at a party by an ex-friend of hers named Jacob Preston. Luckily for her, another friend of hers by the name of Dwayne Jackson ended up finding where they were, and beat Jacob off of Olivia before he could do any more damage. However, Jacob escaped the scene, disappearing as far as Olivia knew, and the damage was still done. Olivia became very cynical as a result of being raped, and cut off her friendships with everyone except Dwayne, who she trusted like he was a family member. Life went on, Olivia graduated and became a martial arts instructor, but the night she was raped would never leave her mind. It stuck to her like a mental branding. She couldn't trust anyone outside those she knew closely like she used to. No amount of therapy could rid her of how she's haunted day and night by her memories of what Jacob did to her. Personality: Olivia can be described as cynical and somewhat paranoid. It's very difficult for someone to gain her trust, but when she does trust people, she's loyal to them. When she's around people that try to socially advance on her, or are even just percieved to be trying to do so, she hides her insecurities with a brash, blunt, and sarcastic "tough girl" persona to hide her fears and mistrust of people. It's difficult to draw a clear boundary between what provokes Olivia and what doesn't, but she does tend to be more easily provoked than not. Sometimes, she will feel threatened, and will take up a threatening side to her "tough girl" persona to encourage people to back off from her. In extreme cases, she'd resort to threats, but tried to keep herself from resorting to them. Despite all this, Olivia fears that one day, someone's going to go too far, and she'll end up hurting them. Olivia identifies as a Christian, but admits that she's not as devoted to her religion as she'd like to be. Starting Situation: Olivia is at LA International Airport, and has been stuck here since she got back at midnight from Chicago, where she was visiting her grandmother in Harvey. She was expecting Dwayne to have picked her up and taken her back to her home in Inglewood by now, and being stuck at the airport while hearing about the news and LA County being placed under a state of emergency for the past 2 hours has gotten her worried.
