That is correct, but I'm not sure what point you're trying to make other than that you know what Apothecaries do. But I'll tell you what happened anyway.
The last of the Apothecaries were killed in the Third War for Armageddon, with less than 96 lions left alive. At the war's end the chapter were given a cruiser by Black Templars and a force of black Templars to accompany them and assist in the rebuilding of their chapter, so I guess If I wanted to I could play a newly trained Apothecary however he certainly wouldn't be in the Deathwatch. I would just like to point out that this is not some home-brew chapter, the story is very much in the lore.
