Broken. Divided. Shattered beyond all recognition. There was a time though, before the cataclysmic Shattering, when this world was whole. Legends of the ancient eras and dynasties speak of this world being much greater than its current state, a place of everlasting peace…and boredom. The Shattering followed soon after, bringing conflict into the world. No one can say for sure what exactly caused the Shattering, though many researchers of the present time agree that it was the actions of some primordial deity, perhaps, the deity that created all realities. But that is still mere speculation. For what events may have caused the current reality, they matter naught now. Because now, all people are concerned and connected with is the simple act of surviving. It has always been the cradle of people’s memories that monsters ruled the world. Horrific creatures, as if summoned from a demented fairy tale, plague the lands for now and forever more. They quickly tore down nations, burned empires, and generated mass chaos for centuries until some humans pledged to fight back the growing darkness. That was nearly an eternity ago. While there are still humans devoted to the cause, time has stood still for the world and its inhabitants. Indeed, even the creatures, who once were sated by the coil of human flesh, have grown almost docile and mindless from the time exposed in this bleak reality. Of course, a brief history lesson on the world was the furthest thing from the young girl’s mind right now. The girl with the tattered clothing and the dark aura lingering around her form skipped merrily along the path begotten to her. Her confident steps took her along the edge of Rivenwood, a place known for its rather peaceful backdrop compared to the rest of the world. It was also the territory most neutral in regards to the events happening around it, despite all things being in the control of the Imperium. Humming to herself, the young girl put aside that nothing as she skipped atop rock after rock while shallow water from a creak pooled beneath her feet. Today was going to be a great day! Converting people, spreading the good word of religion and whatnot. And if people disagreed with her teachings, she always had a place in her heart to take away theirs. A giggle spilled forth from that prospect and she continued to hum in bliss with the air to pass through her unnaturally white hair. “Miranda” was held close in the girl’s tiny palm, her open eye always checking back to make sure the stuffed rabbit was always by her side. When she made sure that it was, she smiled in assurance before continuing to skip, giggle, and wonder what the best way for bleaching people’s eyes were.
