[@mizushinzui] Yeah, that kind of thing. Your character could be near the gate, but i'd rather they remain undiscovered. If you bring in the government you lose lots of the fun you can have with just exploring earth/otherworld, rather than as a VIP/hostile. It's kinda weird to explain but i'd just like to push the story in that direction.
Although i'm open to any ideas.

I'd basically just say, something which realistically does not stray from being 'humanoid'. Like Wolf said. Elves, dwarfs, wizards and orcs ect. They work, but things like gods or dragons are too different from humans to be able to relate to them.

Just work round that? idk? someone you think will fit in.
