Book Cliffs, CO, 39° 40′ N 108º 0′ W Unnamed Military Base The buzz of the fluorescent lighting over head was something he'd heard for six years, schlepping from base to base, never being allowed outside for longer then it took for him to be "escorted" from transport to base, and then it was once again under the buzz of the damned fluorescent lights. Alexander Quinn had spent six long years being the Government's toybox, and he'd had enough of it now. after finding out that his adoptive parents had died in a car crash and well that they were his adoptive parents had been the push he needed. he was done being used, and so he began to focus and plan. his "room" was everything a Fifteen year old would want their room to look like. a large flat screen, every possible blu-ray disk a teenager could want to watch on the shelves scattered all over the room. bed, Dresser, and then his Desk, with his own personal desktops(personally modified of course), five monitors, which currently were showing the flowing colors screensaver, but beneath that, his program was running, causing a loop in the entire base's video system, effectively making him invisible. Alexander, pulled a black shirt on over his head, followed by a black hoodie. already in jeans and his heavy weather boots, he grabbed his Gadget Bag, slinging it over his shoulder and feeling a lot better as he moved toward the door to his room.. solid grey metal, it clashed with the bright colors of his room.. or former room. flipping the flap open on his bag, he pulled out his Rubix's cube, or so they called it, but really it was a nonlethal weapon he'd made just for this occasion. fingering the cube in his hand, twirling it, he counted before he found the one flattened cube with no metal piece on it and he pressed it three times.. "Burt" outside, his personal guard was a big guy, he'd need the extra voltage to drop him. each press of the center cube, dislodged a smaller one, that instantly began buzzing with current. with three in hand now, he opened the door and threw them out. the sound of current, the smell of ozone told him they'd activated as they flew through the air, leaving his hand they suddenly began arching current flowing between each block as it flew end over end toward Burt, who turned.. his screams didnt come, he had enough current going through him to keep his muscles tense and tight, making him unable to move. rushing out of the room, closing the door he collected the three he'd just threw off the floor, cutting off the flow as he replaced them back onto the base he held in his other hand. "sorry Burt, but im getting out of here" and he rushed down the hall way.. he'd been right about doing this at night, the base was quiet, most people were asleep. having to use the Shock Blocks four more times, and each time they'd worked perfectly. making it to the control room. he replaced his rubix back in his bag, before bringing it around in front of him. checking the halls, he flipped the flap up, revealing his Tablet, his system was still running strong, he was invisible still, and they'd see in the cameras in his room that he was laying in bed. his fingers typed over the glass screen of the tablet, before his bag grew warm on the bottom as the printer fired up, he'd have to fix that, heat was a bad thing but the fake id he'd just made shot out the bottom. the picture, name and magnetic strip would read it as one of the many higher officials that came and went, so he scanned into the room with no problem and soon stood in the brain center of the base, the one place he'd not been able to ever even get a glimpse of.. but now. he couldn't help grinning as the electronics sang to him in a way that no one else would ever understand. with no time to let his mind wander he gave him self a pinch to keep focused and he ran toward the main console, and began deactivating the security protocols they had set up, and then he brought the elevator down for him. done in here, he moved to the wall. "hello Servers.. yes im sorry" he said, patting them affectionately, before he let his mind flow into the devices. he didn't have a gizmo for this, and a good thing too, if someone got a hold of it, they could crash any computer system they wanted, cause what he was doing was altering a bit of the machine itself to stop the very much needed fans that kept them nice and cool. done with that, he bolted out of the room, and hit the elevator just as the sound if sizzling and frying hardware came to his ears, but the doors closed and he was heading up. Shock cube back in hand, he hit the center cube til his hand was full, he wasn't taking any chances, he'd tried breaking out before and never got to the elevator before. he stood there, whistling to himself as he waited, a hand full of supercharged little black cubes, waiting for the doors to slide open, and when they did, he stepped out into the garage level, not quite ground floor, but close enough all that stopped him was a guard at the gate.. oh and the twenty soldiers that stood there, cutting him off. Alexander stared at them, as the General, the one man he hated more then anyone else walked forward. "im Impressed Alexander, you've never made it this far, and you'd have made it out of here if you hadn't left the guards laying on the floor" Alexander thought about that for a moment. "im fifteen, i don't know everything" he answered back, twirling the blocks in his hand, working up the charge in them as he did, building their strength. "i told you Alexander, leaving is not an option for you" the General said. "do you think being an Evo out there in the real world is going to be better on you?. you wont know how to live on your own" Alexander narrowed his eyes. "i'll manage thanks" throwing the handful of Shock Cubes out, sending them scattering into the air, at the same time he ducked back into the elevator, hugging the side as he heard the zapping and the sound of bodies dropping. reaching into his bag, he pulled out his sunglasses and slid them on before he turned and bolted out of the elevator, clicking and holding the center cube down, all the others began jumping on the ground, before they rose up and flew back toward him, reattaching themselves til it was a complete rubix cube once again. "sorry General, im not staying" he grinned down at the unconscious general, stepping over him and around the other soldiers before he found the Generals. he scanned it with his glasses, finding the unlock code easily, the doors unlocked and he slid inside. "oh yea" stroking the steering wheel of the black Sedan, having never driven before in his life unless counting video games, but how hard could it be as he started the car, laughing as he put the car in drive and slammed his foot on the gas, tires peeling out before he shot forward, turning the wheel when the turn came as he spiraled up a level, and there it was.. sunlight, real sunlight.. straight ahead.. he held the gas pedal down as he shot through the guard station, having raised the arm on his own. he was free. hitting the open road, laughing his ass off as he yelled at the top of his lungs. "Freedom!!"
