When I originally created Sarina, I based Beacon on a high school level (in RWBY, I thought the schools were comparable to RL high schools) and I wanted to RP as a senior so I made her 18 and as a top ranking student. Later on the general consensus I believe was that the academies were more like universities so with that I also had to go off with the fact she was a prodigal child which also entirely changed the background of the original Sarina in mind retconning the the few background info (which I have to find) I put out such as before the inclusion of Vega into the RP. Those few could be considered non-canonical.

If you want to go off from this [@Lugubrious] 18 year old seniors are are minorities in the academies but they closely work with the school administration and lead prominent positions in student life and form their own clique to, one of them Sarina.
