I'll throw my own two cents in and guess that unless dragons spend years on years of time in human form practicing, fighting outside of dragon form would feel strange and clunky to them. True form just seems more natural for them to do any sort of combat in, to me - cause y'know, they're [i]huge, powerful dragons[/i].
