Name: Desmond Williams Age: 27 Occupation: Defense Attorney Nationality: American Appearance: Desmond stands at 5'11", is of average weight, and with messy eye-length dark brown hair and blue-green eyes. He is trim and fit, though not too muscular, and generally dressed in an expensive three-piece suit. When out scavenging or fighting, he wears black dress pants and a black leather jacket over his white t-shirt. Place of Residence: New York City, United States Strengths: Charismatic: Desmond is a natural leader and orator. He is better with his mouth than most are with a weapon, and is generally well-liked by most he meets -- despite having very few close friends throughout his life. Competent Mechanic: Many of the young lawyer's childhood memories took place in his father's garage outside of the city, tinkering with cars and engines. His father was a local mechanic, and although he aspired higher for his only son, he still taught the boy all he knew. As a result, Desmond is a pretty good guy to have around when there are car problems. Still, when it comes to the more difficult engine problems and the like, his knowledge only extends so far. Semi-Trained Marksman: As a boy, when he and his father weren't in the garage, they were often upstate on hunting trips. Through those excursions, Desmond learned how to aim and shoot a rifle and pistol, as well as routine maintenance. In the first few days following the rise of the dead, Desmond took refuge with a group of army veterens, who gave him a silenced pistol and a few pointers regarding firearms. Though he is by no means an expert, the lawyer brings some knowledge and skill to the table. Weaknesses: Alcoholic: Desmond, in response to his lack of emotional communication, often took to the drink to relieve the stress and frustration. With the start of the end of the world, this habit has started to grow more severe, though not yet debilitating. Lone Wolf: The young lawyer is a curious contradiction of rallying extroversion and hazardous introversion. Though he excels in leading and bringing people together, he often neglects to include himself: often performing stupidly dangerous missions alone, or not telling others of a personal situation until it has reached critical levels of importance and he is forced to. Belongings: Clothing: Two suits (black, three-piece), some jeans and t-shirts, an expensive black leather jacket, a pair of black loafers and a pair of sneakers. Weapons: A silenced Beretta M9, a Smith & Wesson pocket knife (5 inch blade) Aldous Huxley's Brave New World An expensive black watch, always fastened to his left wrist His grandfather's dog tags from WWII Personality: Charismatic, smooth-talking, and professional; Everything you'd expect from a big city lawyer. Around others, he appears good-natured and -- considering the circumstances -- quite content with life. However, by himself he is quite introverted and pensive. When talking, he manages somehow to always be at the center of the discussion, while never actually revealing anything personal about himself. He's learned the hard way that a person's life is taken away all too quickly in this new world, and doesn't want to feel the pain of losing more people close to him. So, he emotionally detaches, and keeps trudging along as an island of miserable solitude, cloaked with the guise of a happy man.
