Sure [@Fallenreaper], if we only used slide, it'd be boring...  But slide has lots of synonyms. . . Some of them even useful.

"The halves of the door moved apart"
"The door snapped shut"
"The servomotors propelled the doors shut, cutting the innocent Sith apprentice in half"

we could probably throw in even further examples, but you probably get the idea...
