Henry Olin

Henry saw her coming. Well, he smelt her first. Then he heard her. Then he felt her weight on the floorboards near him due to his weight and then he saw her. So it was more of seeing her coming as much as it was seeing her coming. This person, she smelt different than the others. The way her weight was displaced... the way she seemed to hesitate as she approached... It was strange. She smelt very different though because unlike the relaxed and almost uncaring demeanor that Lihua held to her being (who was currently ignoring them both) she was perspiring. For a breif moment he hypothesized that her sympathetic nervous system was at work. As she came up to his flank and he turned to face her he saw more signs. Dialated pupils, and he could sense her heart rate's increase. He counted the beats. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... Times sixty... He estimated 151 BPM. Her body was pumping small amounts of adrenaline, and her heart rate was high. She was nervous. A quick glance over her features gave away that she was an animal meta. Her category gave away why she was subconciously behaving the way she was. She was scared. His presence scared her. Or alarmed her. Or threatened her. Or something. All he knew was that at the very core of her mind- her body was either telling her 'fight or flight'. He would put his money on the latter though. Any animal with a sense of self would rather run than fight. Especially outside of their territory. Fighting meant injury. Injury could mean death. Basic animal instincts would be telling her to fear him because of his size- just as his instincts were telling him not to mind her because she was so small. But his prefrontal lobe- the logic and reasoning and headquarters of intelligence- told him that, that line of thinking wasn't true anymore. In this day and age, the weakest looking man could kill you without having to touch you. And so he respected her. It was fair and just and... the general nice thing to do. Plus, it was very obvious she was putting a lot of effort into being here. It was pretty brave, all things considered with the demon on her shoulder telling her no. "Hi," He replied blinking. Hopefully he hadn't been lost in thought for a noticable amount of time. "No, yeah, no. I dont think you're interrupting anything I-", Henry said, looking over to Lihua who still looked genuinely disinterested. Oh wait, she was speaking again. Her name was Cora. Interesting name. "Uh," Henry said, trying to find words because he was not used to being approached like this. He suddenly didn't really know what to do with his hands so his left hand rose to his neck and messed with the spikes along his back. He jerkily stuck his right hand out to her. "Uh, Henry." He said, trying his best to not sound like an idiot.
