There was sort of a lecture about how the class was going to be and something about morality involved in the use of divine powers. It was weird, as the gods didn't seem to abide by much morality themselves. But in the second half of the class they got to think about their powers. What they knew already and what usages they could think of. To help them out, there were some categories that they could think of -but to which they weren't limited- like: combat, offensive and defensive, aid, deception, guidance, construction, enhancement, information etc. It was a creative process that really worked for her. She thought of how she could 'find' metals and gems whenever and wherever she wanted. And how she could shape them to her will. For combat, she might be able to make some sharp and pointy metal pieces stick out of the ground into her enemy. At first she was happy with a creative invention. But as soon as she thought of that, she felt a bit sick that she would train to actually do that somebody. No, she wanted to be able to do good things for people, not hurt them. Another on her list was that she would probably be able to make any kind of key if she encountered a locked door. That could come in handy. But the whole soul seeing thing she didn't really figure out yet. The spirits of the living and the deceased weren't something that she thought she could manipulate. Nor did she want to. When class was over, mister Neelson promised them that they would get to some actual practice of their powers next lesson. He was going to review their ideas and propose something they could work on. Cori was looking forward to it. She stretched out her arms and yawned. Allright, coffee it is. It wasn't very busy outside. The weather was nice with only a hint of autumn. On her way she walked past the gym. Through the open window she could hear some people sing. She stopped for a moment to peek through the window for the owners of the voices. She saw Dallas, whom she only knew by name because he had thrown the party last week, in the company of a muscular guy and a younger girl. They seemed to have a lot of fun. Onwards. Cori moved to the café and through the door until she reached the counter. "Hi. A large black coffee please." As her order was being made, she sat down at the bar. When the coffee arrived, she took a deep breath and sighed. Now she could relax. Sipping from her drink, she looked around the café. Was that Peter she saw there?
