((he's dodging before jack makes the attacks... he redirects them mid attack so that any dodge he makes doesn't matter because he's giving jack too much time to correct the blow))
what he doesn't see is the follow through sending him flying as the blunt end slams into his face instead of the blade as he's mid doge and unable to right himself and move out of the way. this man is a far more skilled opponent than he thought, he even begins to see him smile
