She made a sudden stop when she noticed that the daggers hadn't actually made contact with the man's back, but she noticed that the third dagger that she threw had pressed forward further than the others. She hadn't expected the knives to be launched back in her direction, but she managed to sidestep out of the way, unfortunately not unscathed. One of the knives had flown in such an awkward trajectory that it cut Megumi's right cheek. She cursed, as she wiped the blood away with her thumb. The man's wink made irritated her. How dare he have such a pompous grin on his face. She figured that throwing more daggers wouldn't work, and that she may have a better chance if she stabbed him with the knife in hand. She launched herself into a sprint, swapping the grip on her dagger to reverse. She chose to ignore the monsters that stared out of the portal. If she got rid of this man, she would possibly get rid of the creatures too. Maybe. It was just a guess really. As she approached him, she leapt into the air, stabbing downward at the man's face, her dagger meeting an invisible resistance which tried to push back. She persevered, pushing down even harder.
